In memory of my father, Andrew J. Mosley, I periodically visit your website. Thank you, Dorie Miller Post 915, for your assistance, support, and diligence during our family’s loss and Memorial Celebration. It makes me proud that you continue to recognize my father on your website. It also makes me happy to see that you continue to progress as an organization. Although short lived, my father was proud of your home in Roseland and would be supportive in your efforts for another home. Thanks again, and I will always have a special place in my heart for each of you at Dorie Miller Post 915!

Thanks Post 915 for keeping the community and area veterans in the loop. Love the website and thinking about joining your American Legion. I am planning on attending the job fair in a couple weeks.

Dorie's story is one of the most inspiring that I've ever heard. My father served in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. Kudos and thanks to all the veterans.

I am a social studies teacher and again this year have taught about WWII. I try to teach the students about lesser known people and events, and always talk about Dorie Miller. I hope you are successful in having the Medal of Honor awarded to Mr. Miller posthumously. He is certainly deserving.

Thank you for putting together the November 10, 2010 celebration in honor of AA WWII Post 915 and all Veterans. Let me say, that was one of the most gratifying programs I have been to in years. You did an awesome job and everyone should be proud. The video was the best. I would like to see it again.

I was preparing a presentation on leadership and while writing I talked about mentors and two Illinois legionnaires came to mind. John Geiger PNC and Danny Eison both who contributed to my learning curve.
Illinois can be proud of their contributions as they extend way beyond the Department of Illinois. Thanks! |

Saw the video for you event in November and look forward to bringing my grandfather. He is a WWII Veteran from the Navy too. Nice job and thank you so much for caring.

I salute not only the memory of Dorie Miller, and the accomplishments of Post #915, but I have had the unique honor in working with Chairman Robert Davis and Ms. Connie Robinson in producing the video to honor/salute our African-American heroes whom served in WWII. Robert, let your haters be your motivators! Drive On soldier! Jonathan S. Young

I just happened to get a Doris Miller stamp. So I looked him up on the web. I found your site.
His story is most inspiring. My father in law and rand father are both WW2 vets. Good luck to your post! Tim Keck |

I came by to check out yall's website after hearing about the reception for the stamp unveiling this weekend. This is the best American Legion website I have ever seen. Nice job. Really really nice.

Just went to the post office and purchase some of the stamps with Dorie Miller. For me this is very special. He is my second cousin. My mom's father and Dorie's father were brothers. I wished that I could have meet him myself.

A major part of the "Attack on Pearl Harbor" 1-hour lesson we teach to our student duty sections (about 1000 students in each duty section on Mondays thru Thrusdays) is about Petty Officer Dorie Miller; the story of PO Miller is an inspiration to our students and to our staff members.
I plan to attend the Dorie Miller stamp-unveiling ceremony sponsored by your American Legion Post in Chicago on 20 Feb 2010. John.OGorden@Navy.Mil |
