I came by to check out yall's website after hearing about the reception for the stamp unveiling this weekend. This is the best American Legion website I have ever seen. Nice job. Really really nice.

Just went to the post office and purchase some of the stamps with Dorie Miller. For me this is very special. He is my second cousin. My mom's father and Dorie's father were brothers. I wished that I could have meet him myself.

A major part of the "Attack on Pearl Harbor" 1-hour lesson we teach to our student duty sections (about 1000 students in each duty section on Mondays thru Thrusdays) is about Petty Officer Dorie Miller; the story of PO Miller is an inspiration to our students and to our staff members.

I plan to attend the Dorie Miller stamp-unveiling ceremony sponsored by your American Legion Post in Chicago on 20 Feb 2010.

Thank you very much for your outreach to veterans and the community. I attended the VPPC 3rd Annual Job Fair onr Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Coyne American Institute in Chicago, IL. I was successful finding some employment contacts and found the environment to be very pleasant and accommidating.
Also, I was thrilled to see my friend Mr. Samual Miller Jr. formerly of the Veterans Improvement Program(VIP) on the Southside. He has been an inspiration to me from the day we met. I got a chance to also meet the honorable Mr. Robert Davis - State of Illinoius Commander at large.
It was all a worth while investment of my time and job seeking effort. Thanks to everyone who made it happen . . .!
